The Care.Data service will be coming to Somerset from September.
This is a new database that brings (anonymised) GP records into a national database to enable research and service development that encompasses all health data.
Lots of local patients and GP practices have been involved in making sure the patient information and systems are clear and easy to understand.
You will get a letter and information through the post explaining all about the system so that you can decide whether to opt out (it is an automatic opt-in system).
