We have some changes here at the surgery.

Dr Jon Parratt is retiring from East Quay Medical Centre. As you know, he reduced his days in the practice in November with a view to retiring in the coming year and now that time has come. It has been an absolute joy to have Dr Parratt in the team for the last ten years. We are very grateful to him for being such an important part of the practice and for his 33 years of service as a Doctor, we wish him all the best for his well-deserved retirement. We are currently recruiting a new GP to join the practice permanently and in the meantime Dr Parratt’s patients will be cared for by the rest of the team. We have also arranged cover with a number of sessional GPs well known to the practice – such as Dr Glasgow, Dr Harrington, Dr Reynolds and Dr Wright. We are confident that we will provide you with the care you need during this time and we are grateful for your understanding.

Dr Sally Ash is also leaving East Quay Medical Centre this summer and is joining a practice in her home town, Wellington. This has been a very difficult decision for her as she very much enjoys being a part of the team at East Quay but for personal reasons, a move closer to home is important for Dr Ash. It has been lovely having Dr Ash in the team for the last five years and we know she will be missed by her patients as well as us all. We are very happy to announce that we have recruited Dr Jessica Dungworth and she will be taking on Dr Ash’s patient list. Many of you will know that Dr Dungworth has been at the practice in the last part of her GP training. Over her time with us, we have got to know her very well and she is an excellent GP as well as very well-liked by patients and the team here. She is currently on maternity leave but when she returns she will be with us three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). Dr Dungworth is both an excellent GP and colleague and we are delighted she is joining us as a GP Partner. Dr Ash will be leaving in June, and until Dr Dungworth returns later this year. Dr Ash’s patients will be cared for by the rest of the team and a number of sessional GPs well known to the practice as mentioned above. We are confident that we will provide you with the care you need during this time and we are grateful for your understanding.
