Dr Peter Aird is retiring from East Quay Medical Centre and Dr Ali Bateson is leaving England to mover back to Northern Ireland.
Dr Aird reduced his days in the practice in March 2022 as part of preparing for retirement and now that time has come. Dr Aird has been a GP Partner at East Quay Medical Centre for over 25 years and it has been an absolute joy to have him in our team for so long. We are very grateful to him for being such an important part of the practice and we wish him all the best for his well-deserved retirement from East Quay.
Whilst Dr Bateson has only been a GP at East Quay for just under three years, she is a valued and loved member of the team and we are sorry that she is leaving. We wish her and her family all the best for her move back to her home country.
We have recruited a number of GPs who join us in Autumn, who will be supporting the GP Partners. Dr Alex Murray, Dr Natashja Kasianczuk, Dr Jack Clarence-Smith and Dr Jessica Parkin join the team. And we are currently still finalising another GP recruitment. Initially the new GPs won’t be holding a list of their own, but will provide additional GP appointments to help reduce the waiting lists. We hope that the new GPs will take on their own patients in due course.
In the meantime, all patients currently registered with Dr Aird and Dr Bateson are being informed of their new GP – who will be a current GP partner at the practice.
