Donated plasma could help some of the most vulnerable, such as the elderly, or people with weak immune systems.
The trials are ongoing, but convalescent plasma is seen as an essential part of the national contingency plan. The time window is tight, and we need the support of everyone in the NHS and do everything we can to build up stocks.
Who we need: We need people who’ve had corona virus to donate plasma. Our target audience is specific: people who needed hospital care, who are male, aged 18-65 and from BAME communities. It has been statistically shown that that these patients are six times more likely to have the high antibody levels.
